There's nothing boring about this family run 19th century converted coaching inn, packed with character and atmosphere. The whole place glows with care and attention to detail overseen by ‘Front of House’ Lisa Hessel.
Chef Scott Hessel is passionate about serving great food at the Old Bore, firmly routed to his stoves, cooking better than ever with a return to his more creative and confident style.
Our menu brings a renewed vigour; new seasonal produce and a new format with the emphasis clearly on quality. It is our aim to get the Old Bore awarded a second AA Rosette and even more accolades for its food than ever before.
Wherever possible using the best locally sourced produce. Including some new suppliers for spring like Charles Ashbridge’s rare breed pork & Suckling pig, fantastic wild fish & Cornish crab, Shetland king scallops, Church Hill Farm free range duck and some of the best heritage tomatoes I have seen in quite some time. And our beef which is, sourced very locally from two young gentlemen aged 63 & 65 years and much much more...
Please note booking is advisable. We are open for food and drinks Wednesday - Sunday.
